Charlee is an artist and a writer who holds an AA in Fine Arts, and a BA in English Literature. She started her career writing for her local paper, reading and critiquing books by established and new authors. She always dreamed of becoming to be an established author, and her favorite quote is, “Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.” by Cyril Connolly.
North to Absolution is slated to come out in 2017 and is set in 1877. Spanning from New Orleans to the Appalachians, and out West as far as the Arizona Territory, it features two people as different as night and day. Josette comes into wealth after the death of her father, but everybody knows she is bi-racial, and therefore an outcast. Through her oldest friend, Josette employs Matt, a tracker who was born to a prostitute mother and “black-bird” father during the Civil War. All Matt wants is to be left alone. All Josette wants is revenge, something Matt knows too well and wants no part of. Will the two be able to look past their differences and become friends, or will their differences tear them apart?
